Looking Down While in Face-to-Face Conversation

This is a negative gesture that suggests disinterest, feeling of rejection, vulnerability or feeling ashamed.

In situations where you do not want to show vulnerability, do not look down, although it’s an unconscious and automatic gesture, make eye contact with individual and slightly node with your head show you are actively listening and you may also tilt you head slightly while leaning a bit forward.

Learning body language will give you an edge over others. By learning the gestures and what they suggest will enable you  to change how you are perceived by others and read better the underlying messages you receive beyond the spoken words from others.
